Prof. Said Mohamed Megahed is a Professor of Robotics, Dynamics and Control in the Mechanical Design & Production Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering of Cairo University, Egypt. In present, Prof. Megahed is the Vice President for research of E-JUST (Egypt - Japan University of Science and Technology)
Prof. Megahed has been appointed as the Dean of the Institute of Aviation Engineering and Technology (IAET) – Ministry of Higher Education - Imbaba, Egypt from September 2011 till September 2012.He has been appointed as the Head of Mechanical Design & Production Engineering Department in the Faculty of Engineering -Cairo University (2007-2010).
Prof. Megahed has been appointed as Adjoin - Head of Industrial and Manufacturing Department, Faculty of Engineering Cairo University/Fayoum Branch (1998 - 2002). Also, he has been appointed as the Director of CAPSCU, the Center for Advancement of Post - Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering Sciences, Faculty of Engineering – Cairo University (2005 - 2007). Prof. Megahed has participated in more than two hundreds industrial consultations and training in many Egyptian organizations.
Prof. Megahed is a member in the National Promotion Committee (Design & Manufacturing), Supreme Universities Council, Ministry of Higher Education, Egypt since 2008 till present. He is also a member in many National and International Associations of Mechanical Engineers such as (ESME, ASME ...etc).He is also a member in the IFToMM Technical Committee for Multibody Dynamics. In addition he is a member in the Editorial Boards of International Journals and Conferences.
During his career, Prof. Megahed has authored, co-authored, and edited five books and conference proceedings, and over a hundred research articles, supervised tens of M.Sc. and Ph.D.Theses, and had received many prizes, awards, and certificates of appreciation.
Prof. Megahed has been graduated from Cairo University, Egypt (B.Sc. 1973 & M.Sc. 1976) in Mechanical Engineering. He has obtained a specialized higher Diploma (DEA, 1980) and his Doctorate d'état (D.Sc. 1984) in Automatic Control & Robotics from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France.
