Dr. Ahmed El-Sabbagh, President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), welcomed Egypt’s top-performing high school students during their visit to the university, as part of the program of visits organized by Al-Gomhuria Newspaper for outstanding students. The program aims to introduce high-achieving students to the academic, research, and technological capabilities of universities, as well as the educational programs, training opportunities, and scientific research opportunities they offer.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sabbagh welcomed the top high school students, expressing his pleasure at receiving them at the university. He told them: “You are the leaders of the future, and your excellence is the beginning of an outstanding academic journey.” He encouraged them to continue working hard and to choose their fields of study according to their abilities and academic interests. He also emphasized that academic excellence alone is not enough; students should focus on developing their skills, continuously expanding their knowledge, and participating in extracurricular activities, training programs, and scientific research. He stressed that building a successful future requires knowledge, hard work, ambition, and determination to achieve success.
Dr. El-Sabbagh further emphasized that supporting outstanding students and encouraging them to continue pursuing academic excellence is an important pillar in advancing education and scientific research.
He added that, as the first public research university established under an agreement between the Egyptian and Japanese governments, E-JUST is committed to providing an advanced educational and research environment that keeps pace with future requirements. The university offers students genuine opportunities for learning, training, and participation in extracurricular activities and research projects, preparing them to compete and excel in both local and international labor markets.
During the visit, the students attended a presentation on the university’s establishment, educational and research vision, and its key academic programs across various disciplines. They were also introduced to the university’s advanced laboratories, research centers, and technological capabilities that support both the educational process and scientific research.
The students also toured several of the university’s laboratories and research centers, where they had the opportunity to explore the scientific and technological facilities firsthand and view examples of applications and research projects being carried out by E-JUST students and faculty members.
The top-performing high school students expressed their happiness at visiting E-JUST and appreciated the opportunity to learn more about its educational and research model. They noted that the visit provided them with a clearer understanding of the academic disciplines and research opportunities offered by the university, as well as the distinctive features of the Japanese educational model.
