Discussing the feasibility of establishing the University during the Japan-Arab conference at Bibliotheca Alexandria in the fifth bilateral meetings and plenary sessions with the participation of Japanese delegations as well as delegations of 15 Arab countries;

July 2008 Formation of أ¢â‚¬إ“E-JUST Establishment Executive Committeeأ¢â‚¬â€Œ of the project headed by Professor Ahmed B. Khairy as its president and the project manager under the ministerial decree No. 1674 dated 31/7/2008;

 Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt appoints the Executive Committee for E-JUST establishment headed by Prof. Ahmed Khairy as well as incorporating higher education and industrial experts and representatives of Egyptian MOFA and MOIC. Japanese side launches a technical cooperation project by JICA;
Augest 2008 JICA establishes a project management office in Alexandria headed by Dr. Manabu Tsunoda (JICA/E-JUST Project Advisor). Government of Egypt establishes a project steering committee.

December 2009 Granting E-JUST a solar energy power generation system in the scope of the Project of Clean Energy using Photovoltaic cells for 10.5 million USD funded by the government of Japan;
