Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST welcomed a delegation from Wakayama University, Japan, in the presence of Prof. Ahmed El-Sabbagh, Vice President for Education and Academic Affairs, who jointly welcomed the delegation.
The visit reflects the depth of academic cooperation between the two institutions and their shared commitment to international education and research. During the visit, the delegation attended a comprehensive presentation highlighting E-JUST’s vision, academic programs, and research focus, with the participation of E-JUST deans and academic leaders. The presentation showcased the university’s unique Egypt–Japan educational model and its emphasis on research
excellence and industry integration. The delegation was also accompanied by Dr. Tsunoda Manabu, Chief Advisor and JICA Expert at the E-JUST JICA Office, reflecting the continued support of the Japanese side in strengthening the university’s mission.
As part of the visit, E-JUST and Wakayama University signed a Student Exchange Agreement, activating a structured mobility program starting from the academic year 2026. The agreement enables selected undergraduate and postgraduate students from both universities to study or have an internships at the partner institution for one to two semesters, with academic credit recognition.
The agreement also allows for additional self-funded student mobility, subject to academic and language requirements.
The visit further reaffirmed the broader Memorandum of Understanding between both universities, which provides a general framework for cooperation in student and faculty exchange, joint academic programs, collaborative research, and cross-cultural initiatives, strengthening long-term academic partnership between Egypt and Japan.
The visit also included a campus tour covering key facilities at E-JUST, including the Center of Excellence for Scientific Research, the Graphene Labs, and the main university library. The tour extended to the Secondary Campus and the new Western Dormitory, offering the delegation a comprehensive overview of the university’s advanced infrastructure and student facilities.
