Prof. Amr Adly, President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), congratulated Prof. Osama Mohamed Nour El-Demerdash, Professor and Head of the Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, on obtaining an officially registered patent from the Japan Patent Office for an invention entitled “Oil Recovery System and Oil Recovery Method.” This achievement marks a new scientific milestone added to the university’s record in applied scientific research and technological innovation.
The invention presents a system and method for oil recovery and falls within the field of enhanced oil recovery. It introduces advanced technological solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of oil production from mature or low-production wells, thereby maximizing the utilization of existing petroleum resources and supporting efforts to increase production locally and internationally.
The invention relies on modern techniques to stimulate production from mature oil wells using advanced and environmentally friendly methods. This supports sustainability principles in the energy sector and opens the door to promising industrial applications with high economic potential. The achievement is the result of extensive research efforts, including theoretical studies and practical applications, aimed at developing innovative solutions that can be implemented across diverse industrial environments.
Prof. Amr Adly emphasized that the granting of a patent to one of the university’s scholars by the Japan Patent Office represents a significant scientific achievement. It reflects the advanced level of scientific research conducted at E-JUST and confirms the ability of Egyptian researchers to compete globally in the fields of innovation and technological development.
He added that registering a patent in an industrially advanced country such as Japan serves as an important recognition of the invention’s scientific and practical value. He noted that the university places great emphasis on supporting applied research that provides direct solutions to industrial challenges, particularly in priority vital sectors such as energy, sustainability, and advanced technology.
