The Gender Equality Office organized an awareness seminar entitled:
“How to Deal with People with Disabilities”
The seminar was held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at B26 F1-01 – University Campus.
The seminar was delivered by:
Dr. Yasmine Matar, Disability Affairs Expert at the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, along with Mr. Mohamed Mokhtar, Consultant for Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and Ms. Bassant Rabeaa, Sign Language Instructor.
The seminar witnessed:
Broad participation from academic and administrative staff members, reflecting the University’s collective commitment to fostering awareness, mutual respect, and a culture that supports inclusive engagement across campus.
The seminar was honored by the presence of:
Prof. Ahmed Mohamed El-Sabbagh – Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs representing Prof. Amr Adly, E- just president.
Symposium Objectives:
• Raise awareness of different types of disabilities.
• Improve communication skills when interacting with persons with disabilities.
• Promote respectful and inclusive behavior.
• Address misconceptions and stereotypes.
• Provide practical guidance on offering appropriate assistance.
• Enhance empathy and awareness of disability rights.
• Highlight relevant laws protecting persons with disabilities in Egypt.
Introduce basic sign language for effective communication with students with hearing impairments.
