Case Method Center (CMC):

Project Overview

The Faculty of International Business and Humanities (FIBH) proposes the establishment of a Case Method Center in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Asia Pacific University (APU). This initiative is designed to enhance the quality of education by integrating innovative case writing and teaching methodologies that effectively bridge the gap between academia and professional practice.

In an increasingly globalized world, the need for educational frameworks that are both relevant and practical is paramount. Traditional educational models often focus solely on theoretical knowledge, leaving a significant gap in practical application and real-world readiness. By establishing the FIBH Case Method Center, we aim to cultivate a culture of experiential learning that not only equips students with theoretical knowledge but also prepares them to tackle real-world challenges. This center will serve as a vital hub for developing high-quality case studies that reflect the complexities of various industries in Egypt, thus providing actionable insights for both students and industry professionals.

A key inspiration for this initiative is the NUCB Case Method Center, which has established itself as a leading institution in Japan for case study development and teaching. NUCB has successfully integrated case-based learning into its curriculum, setting a benchmark for academic excellence and practical relevance. By collaborating with NUCB, we will leverage their expertise and proven methodologies to enhance our own case writing and teaching practices. This partnership will facilitate knowledge exchange, allowing our faculty and students to learn from the best practices implemented at NUCB, further strengthening the quality of our outputs.

The center will actively engage students by involving them in the case writing process as part of their academic projects, fostering skills that are essential for their future careers. By collaborating with local industries, students will gain firsthand experience and insights into the operational challenges and best practices within their fields of study. This direct engagement with industry will not only enhance the educational experience but also ensure that the case studies produced are deeply relevant and applicable to current market needs.

With the support of Emerald Publishing in the United Kingdom, this project will empower students and faculty to produce relevant case studies that mirror real-world challenges and best practices across various sectors. Emerald's expertise in academic publishing will provide invaluable resources and guidance, ensuring that the case studies meet global standards for quality and impact. This collaboration will also facilitate access to global standards in case writing and publishing, ensuring that the outputs from the center are of the highest academic caliber and widely recognized.

Ultimately, the FIBH Case Method Center seeks to become a leading institution in case study development and teaching methodologies, not only enhancing the educational landscape in Egypt but also contributing to the global discourse on effective teaching practices. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, we will equip students with the tools they need to succeed in a competitive job market, fostering a new generation of professionals who are both knowledgeable and adept at applying their skills in practical settings. This initiative represents a significant step forward in redefining education as a transformative force in society.
