The delegation was received by Prof. Hany Helal, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST.

At the beginning of the visit, Prof. Helal expressed his pleasure in welcoming Prof. Tanaka, noting that the visit reflects the depth of cooperation between Egypt and Japan. He emphasized that E-JUST stands as a distinguished model of international collaboration in higher education and scientific research. He stated that this visit represents an opportunity to express the university’s sincere gratitude for JICA’s unwavering support, which has included the establishment of advanced research laboratories, generous funding for research and capacity-building programs, and continuous technical cooperation. These efforts have enabled E-JUST to become one of Egypt’s leading research institutions and among the top six in Africa within only fifteen years of its establishment.

During the visit, Prof. Tanaka delivered an inspiring lecture titled “Bridging Nations through Knowledge: Human Security in a Changing World,” in which he discussed the vital role of education and research as bridges for bringing nations closer together and enhancing human security amid today’s global challenges.

Following the lecture, Prof. Tanaka toured several of the university’s state-of-the-art research laboratories and the Central Library. He expressed his admiration for E-JUST’s advanced infrastructure and the level of collaborative research with Japanese universities.

At the end of the visit, Prof. Hany Helal and Prof. Amr Adly presented a commemorative shield to Prof. Tanaka in recognition of his distinguished contributions to strengthening Egyptian–Japanese cooperation in education, scientific research, and sustainable development.

Prof. Tanaka expressed his delight in visiting E-JUST, praising its remarkable progress in education and research, and affirming that the university serves as an inspiring model of fruitful collaboration between Egypt and Japan in building a new generation of researchers capable of driving innovation and contributing to societal development.
