In line with its leading role in advancing the Egypt–Japan educational partnership, the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) hosted the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and an executive agreement for a dual master’s degree program in collaboration with Hiroshima University.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. Hany Helal, Secretary General of the Egypt–Japan Education Partnership and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of E-JUST, and Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The high-level event was also attended by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population; Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education; Mr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports; Major General Mohamed Fouad Aboul Fotouh, Deputy Director of the Military Academy; H.E. The executive agreement for the dual master’s program was signed by Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST, and Prof. Mitsuhiro Ouchi, President of Hiroshima University, reflecting the depth of the strategic partnership between the two institutions.
This agreement builds on E-JUST’s pivotal role as a successful model of Egypt–Japan educational collaboration. It aims to expand academic and research cooperation while offering Egyptian students access to advanced educational opportunities in critical fields, including semiconductor technology, engineering, and cutting-edge scientific disciplines.
The program enables admitted students to earn dual master’s degrees from both institutions in accordance with the highest international academic standards, enhancing their competitiveness in global job markets.
The MoU includes the provision of 10 fully funded scholarships annually for Egyptian students. These scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation, travel, insurance, and essential living expenses, ensuring a comprehensive academic experience that maximizes students’ exposure to international education.
The program is scheduled to commence in October 2026, with implementation across three consecutive cohorts. This initiative reinforces a sustainable framework for academic collaboration between Egypt and Japan through 2030 and further strengthens E-JUST’s position as a regional hub for advanced education and applied scientific research.
In this context, Prof. Amr Adly emphasized that this milestone reflects E-JUST’s vision of building an integrated educational and research ecosystem grounded in innovation and global engagement. He noted that the partnership with Hiroshima University enhances opportunities for technology transfer and localization, while preparing highly qualified Egyptian graduates capable of leading future industries.
E-JUST reaffirms its ongoing commitment to expanding international collaboration and delivering innovative academic programs aligned with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through such initiatives, the university continues to empower a new generation of graduates equipped to compete globally and contribute to sustainable development.
