Why Sustainable Architecture

The main aims of Sustainable Architecture (SArch) program are to give the students the necessary skills and education to improve their career in term of the sustainability and energy efficiency aspects that help them lead their community towards healthier and sustainable futures. This program examines issues of sustainability in cities and the ways in which the students can plan and act to achieve more sustainable cities. And how to adopt the city urban planning to the climate change. It develops the scientific capabilities for the students in this specialty. To achieve the program aims, the latest technologies and modern scientific methods will be used through a number of advanced theoretical and applied courses.

Vision
  • To be a leading national and international program in the field of architectural engineering and its applications enriching lives and shaping the future.

  • Tackling the main challenges of Egypt through creative and practical solutions.

  • To become a world class center for the high standard educational system, graduates, and achievements of its research centers.

Mission
  • To become a role model for higher education, research, and innovation in Egypt Africa, and MENA area by adopting the Japanese educational standards, policies, and systems.

  • Discovery and dissemination of new knowledge, through focusing on quality education and active learning to improve the quality of life.

  • To impact the society through offering a diverse, interdisciplinary curriculum can offer graduates to serve the national vision to achieve the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS).

  • To give the students the necessary skills and education to improve their career in term of the sustainability and energy efficiency aspects that help them lead their community towards healthier and sustainable futures.

Graduate Specifications
  • The program aims to graduate students able to:

  • Identify, formulate, and solve complex architecture engineering problems by applying engineering fundamentals, basic science, and mathematics.

  • Develop and conduct appropriate experimentation and/or simulation, analyse and interpret data, assess, and evaluate findings, and use statistical analyses and objective engineering judgment to draw conclusions.

  • Apply architecture engineering design processes to produce cost-effective solutions that meet specified needs with consideration for global, cultural, social, economic, environmental, ethical, and other aspects as appropriate to the discipline and within the principles and contexts of sustainable design and development.

  • Utilize contemporary technologies, codes of practice and standards, quality guidelines, health and safety requirements, environmental issues and risk management principles.

  • Practice research techniques and methods of investigation as an inherent part of learning.

  • Plan, supervise and monitor implementation of architecture engineering projects.

  • Function efficiently as an individual and as a member of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.

  • Communicate effectively – graphically, orally and in writing – with a range of audiences using contemporary tools.

  • Use creative, innovative, and flexible thinking and acquire entrepreneurial and leadership skills to anticipate and respond to new architecture engineering.

  • Acquire and apply new knowledge; and practice self, and lifelong learning strategies.
