Prof. Amr Adly, President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), and Mr. Abdoul Rahmane Diaw, Regional Director of the African Development Bank, signed an agreement to grant scholarships under the "Japan Africa Dream Scholarship" (JADS) program. The agreement includes three scholarships for E-JUST students to pursue master's degrees in engineering disciplines (two scholarships for Egyptian students and one for an African student). Mr. Abdoul Rahmane Diaw stated: "E-JUST is the first university in Egypt to be selected by the African Development Bank to offer scholarships under the JADS program. There is a high demand for these scholarships from all African countries, and we are proud that Egypt has been awarded some of them. We hope that more Egyptian universities will receive such scholarships in the coming years." The JADS program, launched in 2017 by the African Development Bank and the Government of Japan, aims to provide scholarships to outstanding African students for postgraduate studies. The program's fifth phase seeks to offer opportunities for young Africans to study at Japanese and African universities, ensuring a successful transition from education to employment and enhancing their contributions to achieving the national and regional development goals of Africa's Agenda 2063.
