2025-05-05

E-JUST has taken another significant step toward promoting international cooperation in science, technology, and sustainable development through space technology applications. End of April 2025, E-JUST officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with three distinguished Japanese organizations: Space Data Inc. , UNISEC-Global, and Ecology-Cafe. Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST, welcomed the Japanese delegation to the university’s main campus. A meeting was held where the two sides discussed potential areas of collaboration and shared visions for future cooperation. During the meeting, the Japanese guests were introduced to E-JUST’s achievements, academic programs, and strategic plans through a detailed presentation, campus tour, and visiting to different research laboratories giving them a comprehensive overview of the university’s role as a hub for innovation, research, and international partnership. Following the meeting, the formal MOU signing ceremony took place, establishing a framework for collaboration between E-JUST, Space Data Inc., UNISEC-Global, and Ecology-Cafe. The agreement focuses on exchanging knowledge, technology, and experience to drive sustainable social and economic development through space technology. Areas of cooperation include human resource development, satellite mission design and utilization, green infrastructure and energy systems, and solutions for economic, social, and health challenges. The MOU, which will be effective for an initial period of five years until 2030, emphasizes the mutual intention to collaborate without creating binding legal obligations. Each party will bear its own costs for activities conducted under this agreement. The MOU was signed by Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST; Mr. Naruhito Yabushita, Executive Vice President of SDGs and Disaster Management at Space Data Inc.; Ms. Rei Kawashima, Secretary General of UNISEC-Global; and Mr. Toshimi Yamazaki, Chairman of Ecology-Cafe. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished Japanese delegation including Prof. Shinichi Nakasuka from the University of Tokyo, Prof. Tetsuhito Fuse from Kyushu Institute of Technology, Prof. Takayoshi Fukuyo CEO of ArkEdge Space Inc., Dr. Shota Iino from Space Data Inc., along with Dr. Tsunoda Manabu, Mr. Tomohiro Ogawa and Ms. Masuda Kotomi from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). On the E-JUST side, the event witnessed the presence of Prof. Sameh Nada, Vice President of Education and Academic Affairs; Prof. Mohamed Sharaf, Dean of the School of Electronic, Communications, and Computer Engineering; Prof. Mohamed Khalil, Professor and Coordinator of the Aerospace Engineering Program; Prof. Ayman Mahrous, Professor and Director of Space Environment Research Lab (SERL); Dr. Moataz Abdelwahab, Deputy First Vice President of Regional and International Affairs; Prof. Ahmed Allam, Professor, Electronic and Communications Engineering in addition to the deans of E-JUST’s schools and senior faculty members specializing in space and engineering disciplines. This new partnership reflects E-JUST’s ongoing commitment to fostering global collaborations, advancing cutting-edge research, and contributing to sustainable development goals through innovative applications of space technologies
