Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)

Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) at Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology. The ECE department has an undergraduate major, namely Electronics and Communications Engineering. ECE department is providing research oriented education, based on the best Japanese engineering research and education practices, through five research laboratories, namely, Photonics Systems, Wireless Communication Systems, Digital and Embedded Systems, RF and Microwave Engineering and Image and Video Processing.

The partnership with the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE), Kyushu University, and the internship of our graduate students in the research laboratories of our Japanese counterpart, assure that our students are exposed to state of the art research directions in the fields of electronics and communications. A double degree program (DD) for Ph.D. students has been initiated between our ECE department and the ISEE School.

The ECE department covers research direction in analog and digital circuits, wireless communication systems, digital signal processing, computer vision, microwave engineering, embedded systems, and VLSI design. Prepares students for roles in telecommunication, microelectronics, and IoT industries.

Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)

Welcome to the Computer Science and Engineering department. The department enjoys an enriching environment fostering high quality research, and consequently teaching. The underlying strength is the core members of the department which include experienced faculty, hardworking students, and supportive administration. The department seeks to establish clear understanding for subject matters, and encourages open discussions to further strengthen understanding, all driven by passion for learning.

The department tackles interesting problems with direct relation to the society. Corresponding research themes includes AI, high performance computing, and performance modelling. The department has attracted various research grants (totaling 10 million EGP), and has strong collaboration with other universities in various countries including Japan, France, Italy, and USA. The department has also a recent spin-off company, providing for technology transfer to the society.

The department has a variety of computing facilities. This includes high performance computing clusters, running a cloud environment. The facilities also include various embedded devices, sensors, and robots. Both enable interesting computation environment for diverse problems.

Electrical Power Engineering (EPE)

Welcome to the Electrical Power Engineering department. The Electrical Power Engineering department offers in-depth knowledge in electric machines, power systems, renewable energy, and smart grids. Graduates pursue careers in energy distribution, generation, automation, and sustainable technologies. The EPE department has very well equipped labs and carefully selected staff with long experience in teaching and research within local and international universities as well as Japanese professors from our partner institute, the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE), Kyushu University. And, we are working hard at reaching new horizons in Electrical Power Engineering with innovative teaching and state-of-the-art research.

With its modern laboratories and excellent staff, EPE department offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph D. programs in Electrical Power Engineering. Our B. Sc. Program is designed to graduate engineers for immediate employment and to prepare them for future developments. All students have to learn fundamental knowledge and skills through studying common technical cores. However, the different electives, internships and project allow the students to plan their individual educational experience in accordance with their career aspirations.

M.Sc. Program is highly flexible to accommodate each student’s needs and at the same time offers the opportunity to study in depth up-to-date and important topics in EPE. Ph.D. Students work more closely with their academic supervisors/advisors on exploring the new frontiers in research to prepare them for academic or industrial research careers.

In EPE and E-JUST, we never accept being any other than exceptional and our promise is that you will have exceptional learning experience.

Biomedical and Bioinformatics Engineering (MIE)

Welcome to the department of Biomedical and Bioinformatics Engineering. The Biomedical and Bioinformatics Engineering department aims to provide practically oriented graduates in the fields of biomedical engineering, medical computer science, bioinformatics, and mathematic biology. The students gain knowledge that is necessary for successful communication with health professionals. They learn to use medical equipment and biomedical computer science tools including use of program interfaces to these tools. In addition, the MIE department cooperates with the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE), Kyushu University in different related research topics.

MIE department offers B.Sc. that encompasses the design, operation, and maintenance of medical equipment, biomedical computer science, and bioinformatics and to develop solutions for healthcare. Graduates are ready to join companies working in medical systems and health care in addition to engineering departments in hospitals.
