Prof. Amr Adly, President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), affirmed the university’s continued commitment to supporting national industry and strengthening its linkage with scientific research. This came during a high-level meeting organized by the university, with the participation of the Japanese Business Association (JBA), alongside senior representatives from leading Japanese companies and organizations operating in Egypt, aiming to enhance collaboration between academia and industry.

The meeting was held in the presence of Prof. Toshio Fukuda, Vice President for Research, along with deans of faculties, program heads, and directors of specialized centers and units. The event also welcomed the Executive Director of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Cairo, the Chairman of JBA, and representatives from prominent global companies including Itochu Corporation, Sojitz Corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), and Mitsubishi Corporation.

Prof. Adly noted that the opening session featured presentations highlighting the current landscape of industrial research and development at both local and international levels. It also showcased E-JUST’s journey of excellence and emphasized the role of the Industry Support Cluster in bridging scientific research with industrial applications.

The discussions, followed by guided tours of the university’s advanced research laboratories, focused on strengthening partnerships between academia and industry, fostering innovation, and equipping students with skills aligned with the evolving demands of the labor market. Company representatives engaged directly with students, reviewed their projects, and explored opportunities for internships and employment.

The event reaffirmed the ongoing role of the “E-JUST Connect” initiative as an effective platform linking the university with the business sector, contributing to the preparation of globally competitive graduates and reinforcing strategic cooperation between Egypt and Japan.

The session concluded with a shared commitment to deepen collaboration and expand future partnerships, further strengthening Egyptian-Japanese relations across multiple sectors.
