E-JUST Signs MoU with Abu Qir Fertilizers to Support Applied Research and Industrial Innovation

Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company, reinforcing the university’s commitment to advancing applied scientific research and strengthening partnerships with Egypt’s industrial sector.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Amr Adly, President of E-JUST, and Eng. Hani Dahy, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company, in the presence of academic leaders, industry representatives, and researchers from both sides.

Prof. Amr Adly stated that the agreement reflects E-JUST’s keenness to expand cooperation with leading national industrial institutions and to translate scientific research into practical and technological solutions that serve the national economy, promote innovation, and support entrepreneurship.

He added that the MoU aims to enhance scientific and technological collaboration between the university and the company, contribute to the development of Egypt’s fertilizers and chemical industries sector, and prepare highly qualified graduates capable of meeting the needs of both local and international labor markets.

The areas of cooperation include joint applied research projects in fertilizers, energy, and environmental fields; mutual utilization of laboratories and research capabilities; student training at the company’s sites; and stronger integration between academic learning and industrial application.

The partnership also covers catalyst manufacturing and recovery, the development of solutions for the optimal utilization of carbon dioxide and green hydrogen, support for postgraduate studies and applied research linked to real industrial challenges, and the exchange of scientific and technological expertise to support technology localization and sustainable development.

For his part, Eng. Hani Dahy praised E-JUST’s distinguished scientific and research capabilities, emphasizing that cooperation with the university represents a strategic step toward supporting industrial development and benefiting from research outputs in enhancing production processes and modern technologies.

This agreement comes within the framework of both institutions’ shared vision to build a long-term strategic partnership that connects industry with scientific research, supports a knowledge-based economy, and enhances the competitiveness of Egyptian industry regionally and internationally.
