Position Overview:
The Liberal Arts and Culture Center invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Music and Technology at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. We seek a creative and forward-thinking educator and researcher whose expertise bridges music and digital technology.
Responsibilities:
- Develop students’ theoretical and practical understanding of music creation and production using digital audio workstations (DAWs), mobile applications, and online platforms.
- Teach students how to use computers, tablets, and mobile devices as creative tools for music-making.
- Deliver courses that explore the capabilities and limitations of computer-based music technology from a practical perspective.
- Guide students in gaining a foundational understanding of the nature of music and sound organization through experimentation and the use of modern recording, sampling, and programming technologies.
- Contribute to the development and management of curricular and extracurricular activities within the Liberal Arts and Culture Center.
- Engage in active research and publication in the field of music technology and related disciplines.
- Participate in university-wide responsibilities, including examination duties, proctoring, admissions processes, and other institutional activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Music Technology, Digital Media, Sound Studies, or a related field (Faculty/ Academy of Arts)
- A demonstrated commitment to teaching and academic excellence.
- Experience or familiarity with Liberal Arts Education is preferred.
